I am so thankful for one of God's greatest gifts - music.

As one wise man once said - "Music expresses that which cannot be said, but on which it is impossible to be silent."  It is a wonderful outlet for creativity, a powerful means of communication, and a beautiful art form.

But most important of all, it is, to me, at least, a glorious means of giving praise to my Saviour.  There is something about playing Debussy, slow,  lambent, thoughtful, in the still of evening, that makes me feel as I were in the very gates of Heaven.  Still more in singing a resounding hymn of old, standing with a congregation of others, shouting His praise till the very echoes awaken.

This is the story behind one of my very favorite hymns.  It brings me to tears, as well as challenges me to place even greater trust in my Saviour, each time I hear it anew.
