Brighten up your kitchen with a bit of hand-crafted history!
Back in the days of aprons and economy, homemakers purchased their flour in 100 pound sacks. Ones the sacks were emptied, washed, and bleached, the clever housewives found myriads of uses for the quality material. Kitchen towels, sheets, diapers, even articles of clothing were crafted out of the seemingly worthless sacking, which flour and grain manufacturers oftentimes printed with fanciful designs to induce customers to purchase their products.
Homemakers have enjoyed using flour sack towels for generations. They are considered gourmet towels amongst chefs, and are efficient and highly prized tools for many bakeries, window cleaning companies, restaurants, and crafting professionals. Flour sack dishtowels are soft, durable, completely lint-free, and dry faster than normal kitchen towels - and they add an unsurpassed sparkle to dishes, glassware, windows, and anything else that needs polishing!
The towels I provide here are made in America, and are individually hand-stitched with love by me. I hope you enjoy the wonderful vintage flair they will lend to your kitchen as much as I enjoy creating each whimsical design!
I have two varieties of flour sack dishtowels to offer at present. The Vintage Kitchen collection towels are 30x30'' bleached cotton and have a kitchen farmhouse feel, while my newest line, the Farmgirl collection, are all-natural 28x29'' Eco-friendly unbleached cotton with a rustic flair.
Each tea towel is a unique individual - no two will ever be the same, which adds to their vintage charm and heirloom quality!
