Q. What type of things will you be making and selling?
A I will be offering a wide variety of articles - I enjoy creating through many mediums, so one might find products ranging from machine-sewn garments and hand-felted wool dolls, to downloadable sewing patterns, homemade cards, and re-purposed thrift shop finds! I also enjoy working with my clients on an individual basis to create one-of-a-kind custom orders.
Q. Where do you see this business taking you in the future?
A. I believe being a faithful daughter and keeper of the home, and perhaps someday a wife and mother, is the most glorious and fulfilling job a woman can have. I also believe that entrepreneurship can be an important part of that job - the Proverbs 31 woman is depicted as a wise steward and entrepreneur. So, although I cannot see the future, I believe that this business can be a blessed and productive part of my life for many years to come.
Q. What inspired you to start this business?
A. Inspiration for this project came gradually, rather than all at once. My mother is an accomplished seamstress, and is the one who first encouraged my love of sewing and creating. Also, I was inspired by stories of such companies as Vera Bradley handbags and MaryJane's Farm, that started out as small, home businesses and grew into successful enterprises.
Q. What makes your products irresistible and indispensable?
A. Firstly, I place a very high priority on American-made products. By purchasing my handicrafts, you can help support local industry - not to mention they're just plain adorable!
Q. What do you think the best part of Kellie Falconer Designs is?
A. I think the best part of this enterprise is the aspect of being able to do one of the things I love most - designing beautiful things - and making an income out of it. I am also very excited to be able to offer lovely, modest, quality products to the consumer.
Q. What is your personal favorite product out of all the things you make?
A. Naturally, I love all of the things I create. . . if forced to choose just one, though, I would have to choose the historical costume/cowgirl clothing lines - Next to dressing up in them, my favorite thing is designing them!
